Joan of Arc announce 2017 tour

Tim Kinsella’s band Joan of Arc just wrapped up some shows, including Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory earlier this month, and now they’ve announced an extensive 2017 tour. Support on all dates comes from electronic composer Magas, aka Joan of Arc’s Chicago neighbor James Marlon Magas.

The tour includes a NYC show on January 29 at Mercury Lounge. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (10/21) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (10/19) at noon. All dates are listed below.

The tour supports Joan of Arc’s upcoming album, He’s Got The Whole This Land Is Your Land In His Hands, which drops January 20 via Joyful Noise. In case you missed it, check out the video for lead single “This Must Be the Placenta,” which stars former JoA member (and American Football frontman) Mike Kinsella playing the role of his brother Tim, below.

On that note, before Joan of Arc’s 2017 tour, they play a Chicago show with American Football (whose great new album is now streaming) and Low. Joan of Arc are also on the 2017 SXSW lineup.

In related news, current American Football and former Joan of Arc member Nate Kinsella brings his Birthmark project to Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium this Tuesday (10/18) with Kirt Debique, Ashcan Orchestra and Abraham King. Tickets are available.
