John Darnielle curates Molly Ringwald, Michael Shannon & more for Halloween stories event
As mentioned, Mountain Goats frontman and author John Darnielle is curating a night of stories performed by actors for the ‘Selected Shorts’ series at NYC’s Symphony Space on October 24. Since we last spoke, more details have been revealed.
The stories for each edition of ‘Selected Shorts’ revealed around a certain theme, and given the proximity to Halloween, the theme for this one is “speculative, spooky, sensational stories.” Darnielle chose four well-known actors for the occasion: ’80s icon turned Riverdale cast member Molly Ringwald, indie rock associate and recently The Shape of Water star Michael Shannon, Law & Order: Criminal Intent‘s Kathryn Erbe, and Peter Jay Fernandez (of lots of stuff, recently Luke Cage).
John Darnielle will also perform music at the event, and he’s promising to debut a brand new song, “Skeleton’s Tooth.” Tickets are on sale.
