John Grant played Warsaw (pics, setlist)

It’s been three years since John Grant toured North America (he lives in Iceland these days), so it was a welcome return on Friday when he stopped in Brooklyn to play Warsaw — his biggest NYC headlining show to date. Sporting glammy makeup just like on the cover of this year’s heavily electronic Love is Magic, John played most of that album, with a few songs from 2015’s Grey Tickles, Black Pressure, 2013’s Pale Green Ghosts, and 2010’s Queen of Denmark. Former Siouxsie & The Banshees’ drummer Budgie is still in John’s band, and Midlake’s Paul Alexander — who opened the show with his other band Two Medecine — joined John for a couple songs as well.

Setlist is below and pictures from the Warsaw show are in the gallery above.
