John Grant readies ‘Love is Magic’ (watch the title track’s video), touring

john-grant

John Grant will release new album Love is Magic on October 12 via Partisan. “Each record I make is more of an amalgamation of who I truly am,” Grant says of his process. “The more I do this, the more I trust in myself, and the further along I go.” John made the album with Benge (Ben Edwards) of Wrangler and side project Creep Show, with help from previous collaborator Paul Alexander of Midlake. The first single is Love is Magic‘s electro-glam title track and he’s just shared the canine-centric video, directed by Fanny Hoetzeneder. “Fanny’s video is a beautiful snapshot of unconditional love,” says John. “But obviously there is still a lot of work involved. At least on the dog’s part.” Watch that below.

You can catch John on tour this fall — his first North American trek in three years — which includes his biggest NYC headline show to date: Warsaw on November 30. Tickets for that show go on sale Wednesday, August 8 at 10 AM.
