Avant-pop great John Maus hasn’t released an album since 2011’s excellent We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves, and he doesn’t appear to have played a proper show since 2012. No official word on a new album yet, but he’s finally set to play live again. After announcing appearances at MoMA PS1’s Warm Up in Long Island City and Hudson, NY’s Basilica Soundscape festival, John Maus announced a tour.

The tour includes a Jersey City show on August 17 at Monty Hall and a Brooklyn show on August 18 at Baby’s All Right. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (6/9) at 10 AM.

The Baby’s show is the day before his Warm Up show, which also has Daphni (aka Caribou’s Dan Snaith), Moor Mother, and more (tickets).

All dates are listed, with the video for We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves closer “Believer,” below.
