John Mulaney‘s seven-show Radio City Music Hall run begins this weekend (February 16 – 19, tickets) and he may warming up for them by doing drop ins at much smaller shows. There are no confirmed shows, but this this poster for UCB’s Whiplash tonight seems to be obvious:

mulaney-whiplashWhiplash, which is hosted by Leo Allen and Aparna Nancherla, happens at UCB Hell’s Kitchen at 11 PM and is free (reserve a ticket).

Aparna is also one of the hosts of Butterboy (along with Jo Firestone and Maeve Higgins) which happens earlier tonight at Littlefield (show at 8 PM). Butterboy’s lineup tonight is Rob Cantrell, Emily Flake, Alzo Slade, Chloe Radcliffe, Chris Garcia, and “perhaps a Very Special Guest?” (tickets).

Speaking of Jo and John Mulaney, they were both on last night’s episode of Crashing, Pete Holmes’ HBO series based loosely on his life as a struggling standup. In it, Pete was introduced to the world of alt comedy, including Whiplash, and another club where Mulaney had a drop in. Mulaney was also just on Late Night with Seth Meyers and you can watch that below.

You might want to keep your eye on other alternative comedy nights this week.
