John Mulaney is opening for Sharon Van Etten at Beacon Theatre

Sharon Van Etten‘s tour in support of her excellent new album, Remind Me Tomorrow, hits NYC for a sold out show at Beacon Theatre tonight (2/9). Fred Armisen was originally scheduled to open, but he had to drop off the bill. Sharon said, “he has hand picked a special guest to take his place…and it’s so good, but I can’t say who it is. You’ll just have to find out when you get there!” Now we know – it’s John Mulaney! John spilled the beans early in an Instagram post where he wrote, “I am opening for the incredible @sharonvanhalen tonight at The Beacon in New York City. I am very excited!”

Nilufer Yanya, whose debut album Miss Universe comes out next month, is on tonight’s bill at Beacon Theatre as well. Get there early to catch all three of them.

Mulaney fans who can’t go to tonight’s show can settle for a very funny, brand-new double-length Valentine’s Day’s episode of Netflix animated series Big Mouth which just dropped yesterday.
