John Prine postpones tour dates due to medical issues

At 72 years old John Prine shows no sign of slowing down; he has tour dates supporting his 2018 album The Tree of Forgiveness scheduled through the end of the year. Unfortunately, John has to postpone some of those dates, because of medical issues. A post on his Instagram reads, “in consultation with his doctors, John has been advised that he has an elevated risk for a stroke. He will have surgery this week to insert a stent which will remedy the issue. He looks forward to a full and speedy recovery. Thank you for your support and understanding. – The Prine family and Oh Boy Records.”

The dates that are being in postponed were originally scheduled for July and August, in Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary, and other cities. Two have already been rescheduled: John’s July 28 Red Rock Amphitheater show will now happen on September 18, and his August 11 appearance at Edmonton Folk Festival has been pushed back to next year. “We are currently working on rescheduling the affected dates and will share updates information as soon as possible,” John’s Instagram reads. “All original tickets will remain valid. Alternatively, refunds are available at original point of purchase.” See a full list of the postponed dates below.

Best wishes for a quick recovery, John!
