John Waters saluted on this week's BrooklynVegan Blog Radio on SiriusXMU ++ 'A John Waters Christmas' 2016 dates

‘A John Waters Christmas’ 2015 (more by Greg Cristman)

John Waters is a very busy man. Whether he is writing a new book, hitchhiking across the country and getting picked up by Here We Go Magic, plotting his annual Christmas shows or hosting Burger Boogaloo, Waters is someone who seems to never stop working. Although, he hasn’t released a film since ’04’s, A Dirty Shame, he has still managed to give us a glimpse into his mind throughout the years. His one man show, ‘This Filthy World,’ (named after the ’06 documentary) has brought him from Baltimore to many cities around the world including the upcoming Pop Montreal Festival. Meanwhile, “A John Waters Christmas” comes to NYC at City Winery on November 27 and tickets are on sale now. And in other news, Waters’ 1970 trash cult classic Multiple Maniacs looks to be getting a Criterion reissue.

To celebrate John Waters, this week’s Blog Radio show on SiriusXM is dedicated to the legend himself. The playlist will consist of both classic songs from Waters’ movies (“Surfin Bird,” “Cherry”) and original tracks created specifically for his films (“King Cry Baby,” “High-School Hell Cats”. In addition, we will also be playing artists from the Burger Boogaloo Fest back in June, as well as those joining him for Pop Montreal. The show airs on SiriusXMU today (9/7) at Noon and Midnight EST and is also available OnDemand with the SiriusXM app.
