Johnny Marr previewed new LP, played lots of Smiths songs @ Gramercy Theatre (pics, setlist)

Johnny Marr is currently promoting his forthcoming third solo LP, Call the Comet, on a short album launch tour which hit NYC on Thursday night at Gramercy Theatre. Kicking things off with Comet‘s lead single, “The Tracers,” Johnny and his band played about half the new album, including new single “Walk Into the Sea” (watch the video below). He also played a few from his previous two solo records, as well as a whole bunch of Smiths songs, including “The Headmaster Ritual,” “Last Night I Dreamt Somebody Loved Me,” “Bigmouth Strikes Again,” “There is a Light That Never Goes Out,” “How Soon is Now” and “You Just Haven’t Earned it Yet Baby” which closed his four-song encore. He also played “Getting Away With It,” his hit with Electronic. Check out pictures from the show in the gallery above and the setlist is below.

You can catch Johnny on tour this fall, including two more NYC visits: October 15 at Irving Plaza (tickets) and October 16 at Warsaw (tickets).
