Jonathan Fire*Eater’s ‘Tremble Under Boom Lights’ being reissued by Third Man

Jonathan Fire*Eater, the influential mid-’90s New York rock revivalists whose members would go on to form The Walkmen, are getting their 1996 EP, Tremble Under Boom Lights, reissued by Jack White’s Third Man Records. The EP has been out of print for two decades and unavailable on streaming platforms as well. The Third Man reissue includes the original EP’s five tracks and adds five more, including the previously-unreleased “In The Head.” It also features a new color scheme for the cover art and, as is the usual with Third Man, is available in a few different vinyl variants, including a “Winston Plum” colored pressing exclusive to independent record stores and a yellow version that’s exclusive to Rough Trade. You can listen to the EP’s opening cut, “The Search for Cherry Red,” below.

Additionally, Third Man is releasing a book of poetry by late Jonathan Fire*Eater frontman Stewart Lupton (who died in 2018) that also includes introductions by his bandmate Walter Martin (also of The Walkmen) and Alison Mosshart (The Kills, Dead Weather), plus illustrations by Dame Darcy, photos and more. You can read an excerpt here.

The Tremble Under Boom Lights reissue and the book are both out October 18 and pre-orders (including a record/book bundle) are available now.
