Jonathan Wilson

Jonathan Wilson is a man out of time. The singer-songwriter recreates Laurel Canyon vibe of the ’70s on his records — last year’s Fanfare even went as far as to feature guest appearances from Graham Nash, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, all of whom certainly spent time in that LA neighborhood back in the day. Wilson brought that same spirit to the two NYC stops on his current tour (Bowery Ballroom on 2/12 and Music Hall of Williamsburg on 2/14).

We caught the Bowery Show, where Wilson played a lengthy set pulling from both of his albums, full of extended jams, mellow vibes and pop smarts. While none of the many famous guests on the album made an appearance at the show, opener and legendary zither master Laraaji joined on the last few songs.  Pictures and setlist from the night are in this post.

In a previous version of this post, we said Wilson was the same as former Eisley bassist. They are different Jonathan Wilsons. (Sorry to both!) Wilson/Laraaji pictures, below…
