The prolific Joseph Arthur is one of the latest musicians to add his voice to the chorus of anti-Trump songs. He’s shared “The Campaign Song,” which samples Trump’s voice and features a video that makes use of artist Spencer Tunick’s piece “Everything She Says Means Everything” from the Republican National Convention. Arthur said about the song:

Woody Guthrie wrote a protest song about Donald Trump’s grandfather. So this is like carrying the torch for Woody. I used the lingo of a by gone era to accentuate that aspect like ‘America really should boot bums like this out’ and ‘Old scratch’. I wanted to use the lingo of Trump’s elders as subtle form of linguistic manipulation designed to send him under his bed shivering like the whimpering maggot that he is.

You can download the song for free at Joseph’s website.

Meanwhile, Joseph will do his 7th annual New Year’s Day show at City Winery NYC. Tickets are on sale now. He also has a show coming up much sooner in NYC, as he’ll be playing Iridium on October 29 with Reuben Hollebon before heading out on a tour of Europe in November. Tickets for that are on sale now.
