Judas Priest announce tour as new album tops year end lists
Heavy metal legends Judas Priest have announced a 2019 tour in continued support of their new album Firepower, which is the veteran band’s most acclaimed album in a while. It’s been popping up near the top of many metal year-end lists — including Decibel, Revolver, Treble Zine’s metal list, and Loudwire’s metal list — and it’s not every year you see this much love for new Judas Priest music. Support on the tour comes from the current version of proggy proto-metal legends Uriah Heep (who have just one original member). It includes their appearance at Florida’s just-announced Welcome to Rockville festival, as well as many other North American cities.
There are two NYC-area shows: May 14 and 15 at The Paramount on Long Island. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (12/7) at 10 AM with a fan presale starting Tuesday (12/4) at 10 AM and more presales after that.
Judas Priest are also opening the Europe/UK leg of Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell tour in early 2019. All dates are listed, with the video for “No Surrender” off the new album, below.
