Juliana Daugherty releasing debut LP on Western Vinyl (stream a track)

Charlottesville, VA’s Juliana Daugherty writes and sings like a folk musician, but she certainly doesn’t make straight-up folk music. Her new single “Player” is lightly driving indie rock led by a downstrummed clean electric guitar and minimal beatwork, and it’s fleshed out by a swelling, electronic atmosphere. It’s the first song released off of her upcoming debut album Light, which comes out June 1 via Western Vinyl (pre-order), and it makes it quickly clear that Juliana is a new artist worth keeping an eye on.
