June of 44

June of 44 announce reunion shows

Louisville’s June of 44 were around for just four albums and EP in the ’90s, which kind of picked up where Slint’s mix of post-hardcore, post-rock, and math rock left off, and they’ve gone on to be very influential. It’s hard to imagine much of the post-rock or math rock inspired post-hardcore that got popular in the early 2000s (and remains popular today) happening the same way without the influence of June of 44. They’ve sadly been broken up since 1999, but they are finally reuniting for shows this year!

So far they’ve only announced four dates in Italy, which are with Italian Touch & Go vets Uzeda, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. No word on US shows yet, but our fingers are crossed!
