Kemba Deadass

Kemba shares "Deadass" off new album, touring with Brasstracks and Pell

Bronx rapper Kemba (fka YC the Cynic) recently released his great new single “Exhale” (ft. Smino) and now he’s back with another great one, “Deadass,” which kinda finds the middle ground between Kendrick Lamar and classic New York rap. Both songs are super promising, and they’re making us excited for Kemba’s next album, which is due this year. Check out both below.

Kemba made the album with help from New York jazz/hip hop duo Brasstracks (who have also worked with Chance the Rapper, Jay Prince, Robert Glasper, and others, backed Miley Cyrus and Mark Ronson on SNL and co-wrote their new single, and recorded covers of Kendrick Lamar and Drake), and Kemba’s also opening Brasstracks’ upcoming tour, along with Pell. The tour includes a Brooklyn show on January 31 at Brooklyn Steel (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Meanwhile, Brasstracks are gearing up to release the Before We Go EP this year. It features their recent collaboration with tourmate Pell, as well as their just-released new single “I’m Alright” (ft. R.LUM.R). Listen to those two songs below too.
