Kendrick Lamar is on the new Thundercat LP, headlining Rolling Loud festival
Bassist extraordinaire Thundercat will release his new album Drunk on February 24 via Brainfeeder. It’s got appearances by Kendrick Lamar (whose To Pimp A Butterfly featured Thundercat), plus Brainfeeder head Flying Lotus and jazz crossover star Kamasi Washington (who are both also on TPAB). Wiz Khalifa and Pharrell are on it too, and there’s a song called “Show You The Way” that features Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins (true story). You can stream that one below. The album also features “Them Changes” (which first appeared on Thundercat’s 2015 mini LP) and his 2016 single “Bus In These Streets.”
Kendrick is also headlining the newly-announced Miami rap festival Rolling Loud, which goes down from May 5-7 in Bayfront Park. The stacked lineup also includes Future, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, Travi$ Scott, Young Thug, Kevin Gates, Tyler the Creator, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson, Flatbush Zombies and more.
