Kevin Drew’s (of Broken Social Scene) new “Good Sex” remixed (listen); Album release show at Bowery Ballroom

by Andrew Sacher

Kevin Drew

As discussed, the Broken Social Scene co-founders, Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, are currently focusing on solo projects. Kevin’s new album, Darlings comes out March 18 via Arts & Crafts (pre-order), and we’re premiering the “Beatology Remix” of its first single, “Good Sex,” in this post. The remix was done by Kevin’s longtime collaborator Dave Newfeld (who produced BSS’ self-titled and You Forgot It In People), and he speeds up the song a bit, adding a thumping backbeat that makes it more reminiscent of Broken Social Scene’s upbeat songs than the original version. You can stream the new remix below.

Kevin will also make his way to NYC soon after the album’s release for a show at Bowery Ballroom on April 3, where he’ll be joined by longtime collaborators Charles Spearin and Ohad Benchetrit (Do Make Say Think, Broken Social Scene), Dean Stone (Apostle of Hustle), Dave Hamelin (The Stills, Eight and a Half), and Marty Kinack (Broken Social Scene). Tickets go on sale Friday (2/7) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (2/5) at noon.
