Kevin Hart making movie called 'Run the Jewels'; EL-P is not happy

There’s a Run The Jewels movie in production…but it doesn’t have anything to do with the rap duo of Killer Mike and El-P. This Run the Jewels is a comedy set to star Kevin Hart that, according to the Hollywood Reporter, “centers on a group of failed rappers who attempt to rob an eccentric hip-hop mogul.” While Killer Mike has remained silent, EL-P is not happy about this: “excuse me while I go starve a savage pack of lawyers for 7 days,” El-P tweeted, in what could also be a nod to Sunday’s Game of Thrones. When a fan replied, asking how the filmmakers could do this and not inform the band, El-P replied, “prolly lost or number. its cool we’ll be calling them.” Later, someone noted that El-P tweeted in 2013, “4 words: RUN THE JEWELS MOVIE,” El-P answered “yes I meant for us.”

In real Run the Jewels news, the duo will have a single out via Adult Swim’s Summer Singles Series soon, and hope to have their third album out before the end of 2016. On all fronts: stay tuned.
