Kevin Morby has announced his fourth solo album, titled City Music, which will be out June 16 via Dead Oceans. “It is a mix-tape, a fever dream, a love letter,” says Morby. “Dedicated to those cities that I cannot get rid of, to those cities that are all inside of me.” That’s the album art above and the tracklist is below.

The first single from the record is “Come to Me Now” and is also City Music‘s opening track. It sounds unlike anythign Morby has done before, employing a vintage pump organ. “The organ you’re hearing on this song is an old pump organ from the 1800s, I wish
I could remember the brand – but I don’t. This was my favorite part of recording this album, playing this thing and pumping air into it with the foot pedals, it had such a presence from the moment I entered the studio. For the first few days I think I thought it was just there for looks, that there was no way it still worked, but sure enough it did. Above it hung a framed photo of the original owner of the studios property who died sometime ago. Apparently his ghost still occupies the premises.” Watch the song’s lyric video below.

Kevin’s solo tour with Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield hits Jersey City’s WFMU Monty Hall on March 30 with Mary Lattimore (tickets) and March 31 with Julie Byrne (sold out). He’s just announced more dates, including a show at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on May 24. Tickets for the Bowery show go on sale Friday, March 24 at noon with an AmEx presale beginning today at noon.

Kevin’s last album, Singing Saw, was one of BrooklynVegan’s Top Albums of 2016. All tour dates are listed below.
