Kevin Spacey jokes in plain sight: Seth MacFarlane, Billy Eichner & Julie Klausner have been calling him out for years

The sexual assault allegations against Kevin Spacey made by actor Anthony Rapp came to public light on October 29, and many more have come forward with allegations since. It’s hard to keep up which is a very sad thing, but also a good thing since at least something is finally being done about it. Netflix has severed ties with Spacey, saying that any further production of House of Cards will not involve the actor, and I think it’s safe to say we won’t be seeing Spacey getting any work in Hollywood, on Broadway or anywhere else ever again.

Rumors about Spacey, however, seem to have been a not-well-kept secret in showbiz circles. Seth MacFarlane, who made a Harvey Weinstein joke in 2013, has referenced Spacey at least twice on his shows. Family Guy made a joke in 2005, and there was a joke in American Dad in 2009. Watch both below.

One of the more vocal critics of Spacey since he used his apology to Anthony Rapp to come out as gay has been comedian Billy Eichner, who tweeted the following after Spacey’s statement:

Fans of Eichner’s Hulu show Difficult People may have quickly realized that this wasn’t the first time Eichner had brought up Mr. Spacey though, and that there was probably going to be much more to the story than just a single incident involving Rapp that Spacey tried to pass off as an isolated case of “drunken behavior” involving a 14 year old.

As AV Club points out, Eichner and Difficult People co-star and co-creator Julie Klausner have made Spacey the target of many jokes since the show began in 2015. And thanks to the magic of the Internet, you can watch a supercut of all of those jokes — some of which definitely hint at what’s now come to light. Videos here:

Meanwhile, it was announced last week that Eichner will be among the many great stars cast for a remake of Lion King. He’ll star alongside Beyonce, Donald Glover, John Oliver and more.

This morning, Heather Unruh, a former TV news anchor in Boston held a press conference to report that in July 2016, “Spacey stuck his hand in her son’s pants and on his genitals at a bar in Nantucket, Mass.” Her son was 18.

Jon Bernthal has said in a new interview that Spacey was a bully on the set of Baby Driver.

The actor says he noticed that a lot of Spacey’s aggressive behavior was made toward other men on the set. “I remember at the time thinking, ‘Man, if that was a woman that he was talking to, I would’ve done something, I would’ve said something,’” Bernthal said. “I was really happy to sort of get out of there for that reason, and I just remember losing a ton of respect for him.”
