King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard share "Lord of Lightning VS Balrog" video, announce fall tour
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard‘s second (but not last) album of 2017, Murder of the Universe, will be out June 23 and they’ve just shared the video for the 13-minute song-cycle they call “Chapter 2: Lord of Lightning VS Balrog.” It’s the middle chapter in the 21-song concept LP. With a title like that, and given the band’s name, you may not be surprised to learn the video involves people in cloaks, dense forests, lightning and fire. (They may not have had a balrog budget though.) Also: some rocking out and stroboscopic editing that gives the video a seizure warning. Watch at your discretion above.
You can catch King Gizzard on tour this fall with Tropical Fuck Storm, an Australian garage rock supergroup spearheaded by The Drones’ Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin, that also includes High Tension drummer Lauren Hammel and Harmony’s Erica Dunn. No dates on the East Coast unfortunately, but all dates are listed below.
The band play Primavera Sound on Saturday (6/3) and their set will be livestreamed.
