Kool AD played Ecstatic Music Fest with Ambrose Akinmusire & Mivos Quartet (pics), playing IDIO Gallery
The 2017 Ecstatic Music Festival is underway at the Kaufman Center through May 13 featuring collaborations between artists in the indie/alt world and the modern classical world. On February 18, the fest presented a collaboration with rapper Kool AD (ex-Das Racist), jazz trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, and string quartet Mivos Quartet. Pictures from the performance are in the gallery above.
The next Ecstatic Music Festival show is March 4 and it features another former Das Racist member, Heems. Tickets for all upcoming shows are still on sale. Remaining lineup below.
Kool AD next performs in NYC on Thursday (2/23) at IDIO Gallery to celebrate the opening of the new multimedia installation, Total Relevance, a collaboration between Kool AD and Cult Days (Saba Moeel). More info and RSVP here.
Heems also has upcoming Swet Shop Boys shows.
