Kristin Hersh releasing ‘Wyatt at the Coyote Palace’ double LP / book, touring UK/Ireland

Kristin Hersh Portrait
Peter Mellekas

Throwing Muses’ Kristin Hersh will release a new book and companion double album, both titled Wyatt at the Coyote Palace, on November 11. The title is a reference to her autistic son Wyatt’s fascination with an abandoned house that had been inhabited by coyotes:

I had so loved his love of the place. Throwing Muses’ drummer, Dave – my best friend since third grade—decided that Wyatt needed to encapsulate his sense memories of the coyote palace, make the experience finite, like bottling a memory. Dave thinks we’ll see it again, and Wyatt’s love of the place will come back, when the images have been filtered through Wyatt’s intense and fascinating psychology.

This is the third book/CD release Hersh has made, following previous solo album Crooked and Throwing Muses’ 2013 LP Purgatory/Paradise. The album features 24 new songs on which all instruments were performed by Hersh. Preorders are available now.

Hersh, who released an EP with 50 Foot Wave and opened for Violent Femmes at Prospect Park this summer, will be touring the UK and Ireland this fall. All dates are listed, along with Wyatt at the Coyote Palace artwork/tracklist, below.
