Kristin Kontrol played Park Church Co-Op (pics, video), scoring new Nicolas Cage film

Kristin Kontrol, who’s now living in Los Angeles, came back to NYC this past weekend for the Northside Festival where she played Park Church Co-op on Friday night (6/9) with Gabi. (Aldous Harding played the Church the night before.) Photos are above and you can watch an archive of the livestream below.

In other news, Kristin has started a music production company, called Hunny Music, with Andrew Miller who worked on her album (and played live with Dum Dum Girls sometimes). Their first major project will be scoring new film Looking Glass, which stars Nicolas Cage and Robin Tunney and is directed by Tim Hunter, who made ’80s cult classic coming-of-age film River’s Edge, directed episodes of Twin Peaks and Hannibal, and other credits. No release date has been set but here’s the IMDB synopsis: “A couple buy a desert motel where they find that strange, mysterious events occur.” Stay tuned.

Kristin has a few other tour dates coming up in August, including opening for Belle & Sebastian and Spoon at The Hollywood Bowl. Those dates are listed below
