Kurt Vile Bottle It In

Kurt Vile announces new album 'Bottle It In,' shares new 9-minute song

Kurt Vile recently released his first new song in three years, “Loading Zones,” and now he has finally announced a new album, Bottle It In, due October 12 via Matador (pre-order). The album was recorded by Kurt and his band The Violators, with help from Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa (drums), Mary Lattimore (harp), Kim Gordon (acoustic guitar), Cass McCombs (vocals), Farmer Dave Scher (lap steel, keys, vocals), the Lucius singers (vocals), and others. Kurt produced the album with co-production and mixing from Peter Katis, Shawn Everett, and Rob Schnapf.

Along with the announcement comes a new single, the nine-minute “Bassackwards,” which recalls the chilled-out sprawl of 2013’s Wakin On A Pretty Daze but with a slightly new twist. Listen below. The album also features a cover of country singer Charlie Rich’s 1977 song “Rollin’ with the Flow.” Full tracklist below too.

Kurt also has tons of tour dates coming up through April 2019, including his previously mentioned NYC show on November 28 at Brooklyn Steel (tickets), which is part of his run with Jessica Pratt. Updated dates are listed below.
