After doing a collaborative album and tour with Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile finally got The Violators touring again, and then revealed a mysterious teaser, which sparked speculation about a followup to 2015’s b’lieve i’m goin down… Still no real word on a new album, but Kurt did finally just release his first new song in three years, “Loading Zones.” It’s got a great balance of instantly recalling the best and most recognizable parts of KV’s music (his kaleidoscopic guitar arpeggios, his laid-back drawl) and bringing in sounds that are new for him (group shouting in the background, harder-edged acid-rock guitar). The song comes with a Drew Saracco-directed video starring Kurt Vile himself alongside Pissed Jeans frontman Matt Korvette and famous actor Kevin Corrigan. Watch/listen below.

Kurt has many more tour dates coming up through late December (followed by an April 2019 Australian festival), including his previously announced run with Jessica Pratt that hits NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on November 28 (tickets). All dates are listed below.
