LA band Dream Boys released their debut album, made a video (streams)

by Bill Pearis

“I wore my fringe like Roger McGuinn’s,” sang Edwyn Collins on early Orange Juice single “Consolation Prize.” Los Angeles quartet Dream Boys aren’t sporting Byrds-style haircuts, but they sure sound like the do, with guitars that sparkle, chime and jangle and harmony-laden choruses. Fans of The Byrds, early Orange Juice, Felt and fellow Californians The Tyde should immediately dig into the band’s self-titled debut album which was released this week (9/17) via Art Fag. You can stream the whole thing below.

Also below is the video for single “Born Yesterday” which makes its premiere in this post and features some old school psychedelic oil projections. Groovy. The band don’t have tour plans at the moment but are playing a hometown LA show at Satellite on September 27.
