La Luz released 'Floating Figures,' kick off tour tonight (watch "Mean Dream" video)

If you’ve got a title like “Mean Dream,” the video just begs for surreal treatment. La Luz deliver in a wonderfully low-tech way, as they play on a jungle-themed set with giant body parts dancing around them. It’s simple but really fits with the band’s style, which was already pretty dreamy, and should appeal to Pee-Wee’s Playhouse fans. The “Mean Dream” video, directed by Ryan Daniel Browne, premieres in this post and you can watch it below.

You may recognize the “Mean Dream” set from the cover art of La Luz’s new album Floating Figures which is out today via Hardly Art and you can stream it in full below. They kick off their tour tonight in San Francisco with the first of two shows at Rickshaw Stop, and will hit NYC for two shows: June 8 at Public Arts, and Baby’s All Right on June 9 which is part of the 2018 Northside Festival. Both are with their tourmates Gymshorts and tickets are on sale.
