Laraaji played National Sawdust w/ Dallas Acid (pics), playing more shows

Ambient pioneer and Eno collaborator Laraaji played Brooklyn’s National Sawdust on Friday (3/30). With accompaniment from his partner Arji OceAnanda, Laraaji wove a spell with his signature electronic zither, mbira, other instruments and his voice. Warming up and mellowing out the crowd were Austin trio Dallas Acid. Pictures from the National Sawdust show are in the gallery above.

Laraaji has more tour dates ahead, including Marfa Myths festival in Texas next weekend, the 24-hour Drone Marathon at Basilica Hudson later this month, and a couple more NYC appearances: a “Laughter and Sound Healing Meditation Playshop at the Integral Yoga Institute on May 6 (tickets) and Elsewhere Zone One on May 23 (tickets). He’ll also open for Animal Collective on a couple dates of their Sung Tongs tour, including the NYC show at Town Hall on July 20 (sold out)
