Laura Jane Grace releases new song about and featuring her daughter (listen)

Against Me! singer Laura Jane Grace has released a new song “Park Life Forever,” which is about her relationship with her eight-year-old daughter Evelyn, and also features Evelyn on the song. It’s a drum-machine-backed acoustic song, and probably technically passes for “children’s music” (not the first time a punk musician has written children’s music), and it’s very sweet, especially when you hear Laura tell the story behind the song. She tells that story throughout two videos, which also document the recording of the song on the portable Spire studio, a cool new device you may have tried out if you were at one of the BrooklynVegan SXSW day parties this year. Watch both Spire-hosted videos and see Laura’s Instagram announcement of the project, below.

As mentioned, Against Me! are touring this year, including stops at The Bouncing Souls‘Stoked for the Summer’ show in Asbury Park with Titus Andronicus, and the inaugural Three Stacks Music Festival with mewithoutYou, Screaming Females, Camp Cope, and more.
