Laura Veirs announces new album ft. Sufjan, touring, shares new song

Laura Veirs

Long-running solo artist, notable Decemberists collaborator, and case/lang/veirs member Laura Veirs will release her tenth solo album, The Lookout, her first since 2013’s Warp and Weft, on April 13 via her own Raven Marching Band Records. It was produced by longtime collaborator Tucker Martine, who also plays on it, and it features guest vocals from Sufjan Stevens and Jim James, as well as contributions from Karl Blau, Steve Moore, Eli Moore and Eyvind Kang. The first single is “Everybody Needs You,” which is a gorgeous dose of the type of indie folk that Laura Veirs always does so well. It has a video directed by Lance Bangs with animation by Screaming Females’ Marissa Paternoster. Watch/listen and check out the tracklist below. That’s the artwork above.

Laura also announced a tour, including a Brooklyn show happening on May 24 at Rough Trade with The Hackles. Tickets go on sale Friday (2/2) at 10 AM with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (1/31) at noon. All dates are listed below.
