Lauryn Hill Jones Beach

Lauryn Hill played 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' at Jones Beach (videos)

Lauryn Hill is on tour now celebrating the 20th anniversary of her classic (and only) studio album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Some earlier dates on the tour (like Philly and Boston) saw her playing the whole album and both hidden tracks, “Tell Him” and her cover of Franki Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” with no encore or any additional songs from her other projects. But at Jones Beach last night (7/15), she played a slightly abbreviated setlist that left off a couple songs. She’s also got some incredible openers lined up for this tour, varying by date, and last night’s show at Jones Beach had Jo Mersa Marley (Bob’s grandson) kicking off the night, then rising Harlem rapper Dave East, then veteran Brooklyn rapper Busta Rhymes, then the genre-defying M.I.A., and then finally Lauryn Hill. Watch some videos from the show below, and in the @BrooklynVegan Instagram stories before they expire.

The tour continues in Toronto on Wednesday (7/18) and returns to the NYC-area on August 8 at Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center with Nas, Santigold, and Victory opening (tickets).
