LCD Soundsystem keep going (for now), add NJ show

LCD Soundsystem @ T5 in May (more by Andrew Frisicano)

“People get into bands, and just keep going because that’s what’s in front of them, don’t they?” Down the line from New York, sounding world-weary and wistful, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy is reflecting on his decision – announced before the release of a hugely acclaimed third album, This Is Happening – to break up his band when they complete their current world tour. “It’s more fun to just go for it knowing that we’re done. And then nothing matters. Then we have nothing to lose.” [Guardian]

LCD Soundsystem has added another show to their fall/world tour, their first NYC-area gig since the Terminal 5 dates in May. The show is at The Wellmont Theatre on September 23 and tickets go on sale this Friday at noon. No opener has been announced yet but the show is the day before the ten day tour with Sleigh Bells, which is followed by a slot at the Austin City Limits festival and then six dates with Hot Chip.
