LCD Soundsystem @ Brooklyn Steel - night 1

LCD Soundsystem debuted three new songs at Brooklyn Steel's 1st show (pics, video, setlist)

LCD Soundsystem began their five-show residency at brand new East Williamsburg venue Brooklyn Steel tonight (4/6). They walked on to Ace Frehley’s ‘New York Groove,’ and began their set with “songs you know” before they get to the “songs you don’t know all at once.” They’re serious about the no filming rule; James Murphy told people to put their phones away, saying “that wasn’t a suggestion.” The band revealed they’re almost done with a new album before debuting three new songs — one a teutonic electro number (“Tonight”), one that had ’80s rock song vibe (“Call Police”), and a slow waltz-time ballad (“American Dream”) — and then finishing with “Dance Yourself Clean” and “All My Friends. “Losing My Edge” was on the printed setlists but wasn’t played.
