LCD Soundsystem celebrating new LP w/ free 'American Dream' ice cream at NYC's Odd Fellows

LCD Soundsystem‘s new album, American Dream, is out today (9/1) and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should — it’s great. Listen and read our review here.

If you listened to James Murphy’s three-hour interview on Tom Scharpling’s The Best Show, you may remember at one point he said “record store jerks saved my life” and Scharpling joked that should be their t-shirt. Well, now it is. You can get official LCD Soundsystem “Record Store Jerks Saved My Life” t-shirts and canvas totes in black or white, with layout in a very 1980s Wham “Choose Life” style. The shirts also come with a download of the album. Order yours. We hope Scharpling gets a cut!

Meanwhile, folks in NYC can celebrate American Dream‘s release today at Odd Fellows Ice Cream’s two locations (Williamsburg and East Village). They’re giving away scoops of “American Dream-flavored ice cream” (apparently American Dreams taste like peanut butter smores) and you can buy the album there, as well as exclusive merch. Flyer for that is above.
