Le Couleur hit the rink in "P.O.P." video (watch), playing Indie Week in NYC

Montreal synthpop outfit Le Couleur have a new video for the title track from 2016’s P.O.P. Directed by Etienne Ganjohian, it sets the band in the middle of a roller derby, though it’s not your average match, playing out a bit like a disco-fied version of post-apocalyptic flick Rollerball. Says Ganjohian, “With P.O.P., we wanted to take an interest in the world of Roller Derby, an inclusive, feminist and frankly entertaining sport. Roller Derby has its own philosophy, codes, and conventions, and that inspired this music video, which combines the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and joy.” You can watch the video, which premieres in this post, below.

Le Couleur have tour dates in June, including one in NYC on June 19 at Pianos which is the M for Montreal A2IM Indie Week showcase with Paupière, Lost Cousins, Basement Revolver, Nina June, and Sean Christopher. That’s a free show.
