Lee Scratch Perry preps new LP, going on 'Blackboard Jungle Dub' 45th anniversary tour

Lee Scratch Perry has just wrapped up his next LP, which is titled The Black Album and was made with producer Daniel Boyle, who previously worked on 2014’s Back on the Controls. That’s out October 12 — cover art is above — and while we wait, you can check out the brand new animated video for “Studying the Dub,” which was a 2017 single made with Brazilian great Tom Zé and producers Digitaldubs. Watch that below.

Meanwhile, LSP will celebrate the 45th anniversary of his classic Blackboard Jungle Dub on tour this fall. Backed once again by Subatomic Sound System, the tour hits both coasts and stops at Asbury Park, NJ’s House of Independents on October 24 and Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Hall on October 27. Tickets for Asbury Park and  Brooklyn are on sale now. All dates are listed, along with a stream of Blackboard Jungle Dub, below.
