Leikeli47 announces debut LP, shares song, playing Baby's w/ Jojo Abot & QUIN

Fresh off releasing the lead single for Insecure‘s season two soundtrack, masked Brooklyn rapper Leikeli47 has announced her debut album. It’s called Wash & Set and it drops on September 8 via Hardcover/RCA. The album features the brand new single “O.M.C.,” as well as recent single “Miss Me,” which both have an experimental edge without sacrificing accessibility and danceability. They also prove that Leikeli47 is no slacker behind the mic. Watch the videos for both below.

Leikeli47 will perform her new material live for the first time at the Afropunk-curated Red Bull Sound Select show at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on August 15. That show will be opened by the Lauryn Hill-approved psychedelic soul artist Jojo Abot and LA R&B singer QUIÑ. Like most RBSS shows, admission is $3 at the door with RSVP or $10 without.

All three of those artists also play Afropunk’s Brooklyn Festival later this month (which Solange was recently added to), and Leikeli47 also plays day three of Seattle’s Bumbershoot in September (the same day as Solange, Vince Staples, and more).

QUIÑ also just dropped a collaboration with Syd a few days ago called “Sticky Situation.” Watch the video for that below.
