Lettuce Resonate

Lettuce team with members of Rare Essence & Trouble Funk on new go-go song/video (watch)

Boston funk vets Lettuce will follow last year’s Elevate with a new album, Resonate, on May 8 (pre-order). Like Elevate, they recorded it with Russ Elevado (D’Angelo, The Roots, etc), and lead single “Checker Wrecker” is an ode to DC go-go music that features go-go legends Big Tony Fisher of Trouble Funk and Tyrone “Jungle Boogie” Williams of Rare Essence. That song now has a video made from studio and performance footage, and featuring both guests. Drummer Adam Deitch says:

We all grew up bumpin late 80s hip-hop and didn’t realize until later that we were listening to samples of go-go bands like Trouble Funk and Rare Essence. To get ‘Big Tony’ Fisher and Tyrone ‘Jungle Boogie’ Williams in the video is epic for us. They are the originators of the go-go sound and the vibe they bring is electric! This particular show in DC was absolutely wild and the crowd was on fire! We are so happy to have captured this experience in one video!
