Lilys reissuing 'In the Presence of Nothing' on vinyl, touring in 2017 with Dead Heavens

Lilys @ BVCMJ 2015 (more by Amanda Hatfield)

Lilys returned in 2015 for a few shows they called “Corruption Wrecked My Life,” where they played material from their shoegaze period (1990 – 1995), including an appearance at one of the BrooklynVegan CMJ parties. They sounded as good and loud as ever. (Louder?) The band have announced more “Corruption Wrecked My Life” shows in early 2017 where they’ll be joined by Walter Schreifels’ band Dead Heavens. Most dates are on the West Coast but they’ll be playing a warm-up gig in NYC on January 29 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for the Bowery show go on sale Friday, December 2 at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wedensday (11/30) at noon.

In addition to frontman Kurt Heasley, the band will feature the same five-guitarist lineup as the 2015 shows:

  • Don Devore (Lilys, Icarus Line, Sick Feeling)
  • James Richardson (MGMT)
  • Travis Rosenberg (Tanlines)
  • Simon O’Connor (Kuroma, Amazing Baby)
  • Chris Colley (School Of Seven Bells)
  • Alex Craig (Big Troubles, Limited)

Meanwhile, Lilys’ 1992 debut album, In the Presence of Nothing, which was originally released via Slumberland/spinART, is being reissued on vinyl. Preorders are available now and they’re only pressing 300 (every cover is hand-screened, numbered and signed.) so act quick.

All dates are listed, along with full video of the BVCMJ show and a stream of In the Presence of Nothing, below.
