Lindsey Buckingham played Town Hall (pics), talks "Go Your Own Way" on 'Song Exploder'

Lindsey Buckingham‘s solo tour hit NYC on Tuesday for a show at Town Hall. While out promoting his new solo compilation, he didn’t shy away from Fleetwood Mac songs, playing “Big Love,” “Tusk,” and “I’m So Afraid” as well as “Never Going Back Again” and “Go Your Own Way” which could be seen as a reference to his current relationship with the rest of the band. (He’s suing them.) As to that, at one point he said, winkingly, “Well, so the reason we are all here tonight…” but left it at that. He also played solo hits like “Trouble” and the currently seasonable “Holiday Road” from the Vacation soundtrack. Check out Lindsey’s Town Hall setlist below.

The show was opened by Minneapolis-via-Kenya folk-blues singer JS Ondara. Pictures of both him and Lindsey are in the gallery above.

Speaking of “Go Your Own Way,” Lindsey appears on this week’s edition of the Song Exploder podcast to talk about how the song was written, and you can listen to that below. Song Exploder also just announced that creator/host Hrishikesh Hirway is stepping away, and Thao Nguyen will take over as host starting in January 2019.
