Lindsey Buckingham parts ways with Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac are set to tour again this year, and TMZ reports that Lindsey Buckingham has left the band ahead of the tour. His replacements will be Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Neil Finn (Crowded House), and Fleetwod Mac said in a statement, “Lindsey Buckingham will not be performing with the band on this tour. The band wishes Lindsey all the best.” Those are cool replacements, but it’s hard to imagine Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey.
Last year, Lindsey did an album and tour with his Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie. That followed Christine returning to Fleetwood Mac in 2014, 16 years after last leaving the group. Lindsey Buckingham first departed the group in 1987 and rejoined in 1996.
Earlier this year, Fleetwood Mac reissued their classic 1975 self-titled album.
