NYC duo Lion Babe (aka singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman) released a self-titled EP last December and then appeared on the Disclosure album this year, and they’re set to release their debut album Begin on January 22 via Polydor. They released its Pharrell-produced lead single “Wonder Woman” early in the year, followed by the stomping “Impossible” over the summer, and just recently put out a third single, “Where Do We Go.” It’s heavily indebted to ’70s funk/disco, and sounds maybe a little influenced by their time working with Disclosure. Check it out, with the videos for the other two songs, below.

Lion Babe play their hometown a good amount — maybe you caught them at Afropunk Fest, Brooklyn Hip Hop Fest, or Lincoln Center Out of Doors this year. Their next one is at SOB’s on Tuesday (12/8). It’s a ‘BET Music Matters’ show, and also features Sonyae Elise, Jacquees, Suzy Q, Orlando Dixon, Tiffany Stevenson, Spade and Crystal Joy. Tickets are available.

Their only upcoming show is LA on New Years Eve, opening for Bryson Tiller.
