listen to a snippet of NOFX's audiobook with Tommy Chong narrating

NOFX released their band autobiography The Hepatitis Bathtub Stories and Other Stories (written with Jeff Alulus) earlier this year, and now it’s about to be turned into an audiobook too. (Due 8/30 — pre-order.) The audiobook has all four current members reading from the book, plus punk legend Jello Biafra and stoner comedy hero Tommy Chong filling in for some ex-members, as well as original music by NOFX. Ahead of its release, we’re premiering a clip of Tommy Chong reading first-person accounts of some of ex-guitarist Dave Casillas’ experiences with the band, most of which are drug and alcohol-related. He also works in some of his famous “Dave’s not here” ad-libs. (As you may guess, Chong is very fit for this role.) Check it out:

In addition to the audiobook, NOFX will also release a new album called First Ditch Effort on October 7 via Fat Wreck Chords, and they’ve got a lyric video for “Six Years On Dope” off that album. They recently toured, including a NYC show at Irving Plaza. Pictures of that show are in the gallery above.

Speaking of Tommy Chong, there are some upcoming Cheech & Chong live dates, including a few near NYC. The duo hits Montclair, NJ’s Wellmont Theater on November 3, Long Island’s Paramount on November 4, and Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget on November 5. Tickets for all three of those shows are available. All dates HERE.
