listen to Bush Tetras' "Don't Stop It" from their first new record in 10 years

Bush TetrasTake the Fall EP is out next week via Wharf Cat (preorder), and it’s the iconic NYC post-punk group’s first brand-new record in a decade. They are still in fine wiry form on “Don’t Stop It,” which premieres in this post. Guitarist Pat Place mixes pointed jabs with washes of sludge overtop of the rhythm section’s driving, classic-sounding Tetras beat, while Cynthia Sley’s vocals still drip with attitude and drama. (“I’m itching, but I’m not scratching” is about as Bush Tetras of an opening line as you can get.) The whole EP’s got a visceral, live feel and you can listen to “Don’t Stop” below.

The band will celebrate the EP’s release at Le Poisson Rouge on April 14 with two bands who have followed in Bush Tetras’ footsteps, Pill and Palberta (tickets). That’s the kickoff show of their spring tour, which hits both coasts, but not much in between. They do have a Detroit show in July, however. All dates are listed below.
