Woman's March on Washington

Fiona Apple, who previously brought us anti-Trump Christmas song “Trump’s Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire,” has a new piece of music inspired by the president-elect. “Tiny Hands” was written with composer Michael Whalen, and centers around the very catchy lyrics “we don’t want your tiny hands/anywhere near our underpants.” The chant was written for the Women’s March on Washington, which you can read on to find out more information about. Listen to the chant below, and stay tuned for more information about protest events and shows happening this weekend.

Saturday’s Women’s March on Washington is the biggest organized protest event happening this weekend, with RSVPs on its facebook event alone reaching over 200k. From the march’s mission statement:

In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. The Women’s March on Washington will send a bold message to our new government on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.

The DC march happens on Saturday, January 21 and is preceded by a rally, which runs from 10 AM – 1:15 PM. The march starts immediately after, at the intersection of Independence Avenue and Third Street, Washington DC.

If you can’t make it to DC on Saturday, there are over 300 Sister Marches taking place across the country (and world) in the spirit of the DC march. The NYC chapter, which also happens on January 21, has staggered marching start times beginning at 11 AM, and kicks off from 1 Dag Hammarskoljd Plaza (48th St. at 1 st Ave).
