listen to Guided by Voices' "My Future In Barcelona" (they're playing Primavera Sound)
Guided by Voices were just announced for the insane 2019 Primavera Sound lineup, and that marks the band’s first appearance in Spain since 1997. Coincidentally, Guided by Voices also have a new song titled “My Future in Barcelona” which seems like some sort of psychic phenomena on Bob Pollard’s part. His well of hooks and catchy choruses is unending. That song premieres in this post and you can listen below.
“My Future in Barcelona” is off their upcoming double album Zeppelin Over China that’s out February 1. They’ll then follow it with Warp and Woof in April, which will first be released as a series of four 7″ EPs: Winecork Stonehenge and 100 Dougs will be out this Friday (12/7), with Umlaut Over The Özone and 1901 Acid Rock in March. Still more: GvB will release Street Party in February 2010. Bob will probably fit in a solo album or two during that 10-month gap, stay tuned!
Guided by Voices will play Minneapolis on December 30 and Chicago on New Year’s Eve. While over for Primavera sound, they’ll also play their first-ever show in Portugal as part of the related NOS Primavera in Porto in June. All dates are listed below.
Speaking of Dougs, GBV’s Doug Gillard will be playing as part of Eternal Summers frontwoman Nicole Yun‘s solo band at the Kanine Holiday Party at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on December 17. That show also features Kip Berman’s solo project The Natvral (playing as a band for the first time), Canadian group Tallies and Honey Cutt. The show is free with RSVP.
