listen to Holly Miranda's cover of Sufjan Stevens' "No Shade In The Shadow Of The Cross"
Holly Miranda‘s new covers EP, Party Trick, is out next week (May 13) via Dangerbird. and one of the songs she takes on is Sufjan Stevens’ “No Shade In The Shadow Of The Cross” (from last year’s Carrie & Lowell). Holly’s take doesn’t stray too far from the original, with delicately picked acoustic guitar, but her smoky vocals bring a different quality to the song. That cover premieres in this post and you can listen below.
Currently, Holly is in the middle of her four-show residency at Brooklyn restaurant/speakeasy Hell Phone (247 Varet St.) and she plays tonight (5/5) with special guests. Tickets are still available.
After the residency, Holly will play NYC’s Governors Ball in June and has a few other tour dates as well. All are listed below.
